Youngdads.co.uk was created to enable young dads to access information everything they wanted to know about pregnancy, birth and beyond - but were afraid to ask!
I hope you find the site interesting and useful - please let me know if there's anything important you think I've missed out.

And we have a new addition to the site: Snowy became a father for the first time at the age of 20, again at 22, had a third child at 25 and finally a fourth at 30! He is happy to pass on his wealth of expertise to anyone who wants a guy's perspective.
Interested in taking part in some research about young dads?

how youngdads.co.uk came about
My name is Mia Davies and used to be a midwife working with young parents at Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital in West London. I realised, through discussion with other midwives, that some young dads find the process of antenatal care pretty intimidating and do not feel comfortable asking the kind of questions they want to know the answer to. Some midwives find it difficult to communicate with young dads and, as a result, there is sometimes a tendency to ignore them. It was felt that young dads should have some other way to access support and information they needed. The domain name was purchased and the rest is history...
what now?
For the last year I've been travelling in Canada and I'm just about to head off again to New Zealand, so you can imagine that I've not had too much time to update the site. I'd love to give it a whole new, whizzy feel but lack the expertise - if anyone reading this would like to take on the challenge then get in touch! In any case, let me know if there's anything you think should be up here that isn't - I'm happy to take all suggestions for improvement. You can email me here to let me know what you think.
